Diploma in Accident Repair Body Principles


The Diploma in Accident Repair Body Principles is for Candidates wanting to broaden their understanding of carrying out body repairs to motor vehicles as a result of an accident. It also gives them the opportunity to learn how to develop others. Successful candidates could use their knowledge and skills in a variety of roles including specialist repair or specialist finishing in a car bodywork workshop.

It combines theoretical knowledge and the development of practical skills in automotive accident repair. It covers areas such as body, mechanical and electrical repairs, and paint and trim.

This qualification was developed in collaboration with the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) the sector skills council for the automotive retail industry and other awarding organisations.

This qualification allows candidates to progress into employment or to a Level 3 Diploma in Accident Repair Body Competence. In addition, candidates who enjoy leading teams of people at work could also move onto team leader or management qualifications as offered through the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM).
